Joseph R. Bartylak Dinner March 26 in Springfield
Lawyers’ Assistance Program will hold its first annual Joseph R. Bartylak Dinner at the Governor’s Mansion in Springfield, Illinois on Friday evening, March 26, 2010.
Supreme Court Justice Lloyd Karmeier will be the keynote speaker and LAP will present the first Joseph A. Bartylak Service Award to downstate volunteer John W. Huffman.
During LAP’s entire 30-year history, Joe Bartylak served as a LAP volunteer, a member of its Board of Directors, and as the first Associate Director when the organization opened its downstate office. We are pleased to recognize his long-time service with this new award in his name. Joe will be present at the dinner and LAP will honor him for his many years of service.

Due to security regulations at the Governor’s Mansion, your registration must be received prior to the event so your name can be submitted as one of the dinner attendees. Tickets are $75 per person and $750 per table.
23rd Annual Conference for Lawyer Assistance Programs
The ABA Commission on Lawyer Assistance Programs will hold its annual conference in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 5 through 8, 2010.
The conference will have sessions of interest to lawyers, judges, disciplinary staff, bar leaders, law school administrators, and law firm managers, as well as abundant opportunities to network with LAP personnel and volunteers involved in lawyer assistance programs across the United States and Canada.
The program will include such varied topics as: medical advances in treating addiction, the role of abuse and trauma in addiction and mental health treatment,
the critical issue of an aging legal population, a judicial panel,
the effect of the recession on lawyers, stress resilience, and current law student issues.
